Jazāk Allāh Khayr/ Thank you for contacting Mathabah Institute.
To use one’s husband’s name to express affiliation and or identification, as a wife to the husband, is permissible. What is prohibited in Islam, is to use a name to falsely prove blood lineage and or biological relationship.
“Anyone who knowingly attributes themselves to someone other than their father is guilty of disbelief. Whoever claims to belong to a people who have nothing to do with them [in blood lineage], let them take their place in the fire.” (Bukhari 3508)[1]
Only Allāh knows best.
