Question:
After urinating, I always wash my private part properly and clean it. However I still have doubts that there may be a drop that came out afterwards. What should I do? Also, if a drop of semen or urine comes out, do you have to wash the whole cloth or not?
Answer:
In the Name of God, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Jazāk Allāh Khayr/ Thank you for contacting us regarding your question. Your concern regarding purity is admirable.
In your particular situation, once you have washed yourself after urinating, I suggest you place some tissue or toilet paper around the private organ you urinated through, as you dress to come out of the washroom. You may continue walking and going about your day. Just before you make an ablution (wuḍū) for prayer etc., you can discard the tissue paper. This way if any droplets of urine would have come out, they would have done so on the tissue.
Also note that few droplets are not of a major concern.
It is not permissible to commence wuḍū unless one is satisfied that all the urine droplets have come out.
Also note that few small droplets are not of a major concern for validity of prayer. However, one should try their utmost to ensure all urine drops have exited while relieving oneself.
“On passing urine, a person must ensure that the leakage of urine has stopped and his mind is satisfied concerning the issue. This is achieved through ones regular habits, such as walking, coughing, or leaning on one’s side. The woman is not required to do this. She is to wait a small time and then clean herself. It is not permissible to commence wuḍū until one is satisfied that the leakage or urine has stopped.” (Nūr al Iḍāḥ)
If a cloth has been soiled by impurities, only that soiled portion is required to be washed.
And Allāh Knows Best
