Alḥamdulillāh, we have been blessed with a new baby girl. We are considering some names and were wondering if ‘Anīsa’ is a ṣaḥābiyyah’s name?

The great Shāfīʾe Islamic scholar and historian, Imam Shihāb al-Dīn Abū Al-Faḍl Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī Al-Asqalānī has recorded, in his famous work, ‘Al-Iṣābah Fī Tamīz Al-Ṣaḥābah’, a list of at least 24 ṣaḥābiyyāat (female believers who seen the Prophet -pbuh- and passed away believing in his message) who were named ‘Anīsa’.
