Is it Permitted to Name a Cat With a Prophet’s Name?

Question:

In Islam are we permitted to name a cat with a prophet’s name such as Ādam?

Answers:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

It is not appropriate in Islam to name an animal with a prophet’s name. This act would be deemed islamicaly disapproved (makrūh) as it denotes disrespect to the lofty status and position of a prophet.

“Whoever honors the hallmarks of Allāh, indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.” (Qur’ān: 22:32)[1]
