Question:
My question is, would my du’a’ (supplication) after khatmul-Qur’ān (Qur’anic completion) still be accepted if my wuḍū (ablution) was not valid?
I have completed the Qur’ān at least 3 times after which I made a special du’ā’ (after each completion), hoping for it to be accepted. However, recently, I have realized that all this time my istibrā (cleaning after washroom) method had been ineffective and urine drops continued to fall even after ablution.
Answer:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم
In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Jazāk Allāh Khayr/ Thank you for contacting Mathābah.
Your du’ā after the completion of the Qur’ān is In-shā Allāh accepted. Ablution (wuḍū) is not a condition or requirement for its validity.
“And your Lord says, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” – (Qur’ān 40:60)[1]
