Islamic Essentials Programs
The Islamic Essentials program delivers theoretical and practical understanding of the fundamental teachings of Islam. It equips students with the basic knowledge and training required for higher Islamic learning.
Level 2
Arabic Program
Over four years, master Arabic from its core foundations to advanced literary elegance. Begin with grammar, verbs, and sentence construction. Progress to complex structures, paragraph writing, and Qur'anic analysis. Culminate in advanced rhetoric, literature, and the nuanced art of eloquent composition.
Scholar of Islam Program
A four-year journey from foundational theology and history to advanced jurisprudence. You'll master creed, Qur'anic sciences, and the evolution of Hadith. Progress through core Hanafi fiqh, covering worship, family law, and socio-legal principles, culminating in a deep, structured understanding of Islamic scholarship.
Community Leader Imam Training
A practical, two-part training focused on mastering essential duties. Covers leading prayers, sermons, funerals, and charity. Equips students to perform as registered marriage officers and certified counsellors for the Canadian Muslim community.
Tafsir Program
A program for in-depth study of the Qur'an's interpretation. Covers methodology, major exegetical works, and linguistic analysis, culminating in the detailed explanation of Juz' Amma and thematic tafsir.
Level 3
Successors Tafsir Specialization
This program is designed to develop the next generation of scholars in traditional Qur’anic exegesis. Students gain the skills to engage classical tafsirs and present relevant contemporary explanations. Training in writing and publishing ensures their work reaches audiences effectively, offering the ummah a strong alternative to Orientalist interpretations.
Fiqh Program
This program has been designed to produce a new generation of Fiqh scholars who will have the skillset to understand how fiqh conclusions are reached in light of their original sources, fiqh principles and the social context of the time. This will thus enable them to understand how to tackle contemporary issues and provide the guidance best suited for the situation at hand.
