Could you advise on a duʿāʾ for lost items. I have lost something very important and am getting desperate to find it.

May Allāh facilitate success and comfort for you in your situation. We pray that you retrieve your lost item very soon.

Imam Bayhaqī has recorded a narration on the strength of Ibn ʿOmar (may Allāh be pleased with him) referencing the following supplication:

اَلَّلهُمَّ رَادَّ الضَّالَّةِ هَادِيَ الضَّالَّةِ تَهْدِيْ مِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ رُدَّ عَلَيَّ ضَالَّتِيْ بِعِزَّتِكَ وَسُلْطَانِكَ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَعَطَائِكَ

Allāhumma Rādd al-dhāllati Hādiy al-dhāllati tahdī min al-dhalālati rudda ʿalayya dhāllatī bi ʿizzatika wa sulṭānika finnahā min fadhlika wa ʿaṭāika

“O Allāh, the One who returns the lost, by Your power and awe, return what I have lost, for surely I have received it as Your gift and favour”. (Bayhaqī)
