Question:
I am suffering from doubts related to purity. I have a doubt that my clothes were impure and I sat on the sofa, slept on the carpet, went to the mosque etc. Now, I am worried about it, as to how much can this impurity spread. If someone prays on that place, will his prayer be valid? Since I went to the mosque many times while wearing the clothing, I am worried if the ṣalāh of a person who prays there will be valid or not. If it touches his clothes, it will spread to other places. If I have clean clothes on and they become wet thereafter I sit on the places which previously might have been impure, will it make that clothing impure or not? Please provide me a solution to this problem!

The impurity you are referring to, can only be certain in the mentioned places, if you can clearly smell or see the impurity with absolute certainty. A mere assumption of impurities everywhere, does not constitute things being impure. Try your best to always wash yourself and stay clean. Dispel any doubts, as doubts regarding purity are at times from the devil. – (See: Rad Al- Muḥtār, Vol 6, Page 733[1], Vol 1, Page 188[2], Dār Al-Fikr, Al-Qawāid Al-Fiqhīyyah, Page 15, Dār Al-Tirmidhī[3])
