Question:
As a person with OCD and anxiety problems, I suffer from bad thoughts and sometimes say things beyond my control.
Recently, my wife had makeup left on the floor. I kicked it and she said the makeup is expensive. The reason I kicked it because I had put the prayer mat down for prayer. She asked why I kicked the expensive makeup. I then said to that, the makeup is not the Qur’ān that I cannot kick it.
The reality is, I would never compare the Qur’ān to makeup. What I meant was that the makeup is nothing special. Now, due to my OCD, I keep thinking maybe I meant the Qur’ān. Does what I described cause kufr (disbelief)? I did not mean to say or think anything wrong.

In regards to your question about kicking some worldly possession such as a beauty product and getting thoughts about what you said to your wife might imply the Qur’ān, is a devilish thought and insinuation. As long as you did not believe in an evil thought or statement with conviction, your thought or statement will not result in committing kufr (disbelief).
“And if it comes to you from the devil an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in God. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing.” – (Qurʿān: 41:36).[1]
The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “I bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allāh, and I am His Messenger. The person who would meet God without entertaining any doubt about these [two fundamentals] would enter Paradise”. – (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 27) [2]
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “God has forgiven my followers the evil thoughts that occur in their minds, as long as such thoughts are not put into action or uttered.” – (Ṣaḥīḥ Bukhārī 5269) [3]
Only Allāh knows best.
