Question:
I have an understanding with my manager and sometimes miss a work day or arrive late. Is this allowed islamicaly if my manager knows?
Answer:

In your described situation, if you have explicit permission from your manager or supervisor, to take off time and or come late for work, then it is islamicaly allowed, otherwise it is not. – (Rad Al-Muḥtār, Vol 6, Page 70, Dār Al-Fikr[1], Al-Natf Fi-Al-Fatāwā Vol 2, Page 559, Dār Al-Furqān[2])
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The one who is dishonest [and or cheats] us is not following the practices of us muslims.” – (Sahih Muslim 189)[3]
